Old Pictures and Various Items

Remarkable, remembered, regarded.

(The idea is to develop this section over this Winter-2010- Mainly older/archive photos.)

Below are some favourites

Rhosymeirch Flyaway by Parc Welsh Flyer out of
                                                                                                            Dyoll Tawney  (Llanarth Braint).

These pictures do not  do justice to this cob's astonishing movement.  He was regularly shown  by Joan Thomas, Grange Stud, Neath in the '80's       .

Twyford Signal
-just the most beautiful pattern of a pony. Lifts the spirits just to look at him! Out of Twyford Sparkle who was spotted by the Mollegards Stud to breed a series of other Welsh Section Bs of quality. Mollegards Spartacus is also out of Twyford Sparkle.

Mollegards Spartacus- half brother to T.Signal.

Douthwaite Signwriter by Twyford Signal.

The above ponies at Llanarth.

Hillbarn Cuckoo

A picture of an amazing pony-Machno Carwyn. Pure bred Welsh Cob by Carregcoch Bleddyn .

Another great picture (above) -top riding pony sire ,Bwlch Zingaree, National Pony Society registered, from an auspicious family .

Champ IV by Arab Count Christo . Ridden by Debbie Johnsey
Champ was virtually unbeatable. This picture c.1970. Champ was a stallion who does have
offspring. It would be interesting to hear of  these.

June pictured c 1946. One of the post war mares who produced some of the most influential lines of riding ponies and hacks.

Below: Ladybird, another 'cornerstone' mare at Shalbourne-again, a mare who had a great influence on hack breeding

Above: If you have a pony of British Riding Pony origin with curly ears, it may have this boy or his relatives in the pedigree.Choir boy was by Chantain and out of Autumn Leaf ( with that name did she carry the curly ears?).

Tara,by Hunters Improvement Society Premium Stallion, Erin's Pride and out of Chocolate Box, bred by Mrs Betty Skelton.

Pictured here at the Dublin Horse Show1965, when owned by Mr and Mrs Reiss.

Tara won her class, as did her colt foal by Bwlch Zephyr...as Solway North Wind he was to become a highly regarded

and influential stallion.

Erin's Pride , G.S.B. and H.I.S. sire of Tara -pictured below.

Another remarkable mare,Deinol Sian.We found her for a friend to use for Pony Club events.

Sian had already bred the outstanding SHP Sion Brian and later returned again to Small-Land Mambrino to produce Sion St.Daniel.

Picture taken some years ago . Splashed white filly and two sabino Section As belonging to a friend.
